Dog Grooming in Bangalore — HempyTails
Quick Answer
Professional dog grooming at HempyTails (Indiranagar) covers everything from a basic bath & brush (from ₹800) to therapeutic skin & coat grooming (from ₹2,500). Our protocols are designed for Bangalore's climate, hard water, and the skin conditions common in the city's popular breeds. Book on WhatsApp at +91 98805 27606. Open daily 10 AM–10 PM.
At HempyTails, grooming is not just cosmetic maintenance. For most dogs in Bangalore — especially Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Cocker Spaniels, French Bulldogs, and Pugs — regular, properly executed grooming is an essential component of skin-health management.
Bangalore's combination of high humidity, mineral-heavy BWSSB water, year-round flea pressure, and home-cooked rice-and-chicken diets creates a unique skin and coat challenge that generic grooming fails to address. Our grooming protocols are built around this reality.
Our Grooming Services
Basic Bath & Brush — from ₹800
Thorough shampoo wash with pH-balanced canine shampoo, warm-water rinse, high-velocity professional blow-dry, and full brush-out. Nail trim included. Best for: healthy skin & coats on a routine 3–4 week cycle.
Full Groom (Breed Cut) — from ₹1,500
Everything in the Basic Bath & Brush, plus a breed-specific haircut to standard or owner preference. Ear cleaning, anal-gland expression (if required), and paw-pad trim included. Best for: continuously-growing coats — Shih Tzus, Cockers, Poodles, mixed breeds needing scissor work.
Therapeutic Skin & Coat Grooming — from ₹2,500
A medically-informed protocol for dogs with active or diagnosed skin conditions. We use veterinarian-recommended medicated shampoos (Douxo S3 Calm, Douxo S3 PYO, Malaseb, Virbac Allermyl, Virbac Hexadene) applied with proper contact time (5–10 minutes) — not rinsed off immediately as in standard salons — followed by condition-appropriate conditioning and complete high-velocity drying to prevent secondary Malassezia infections. Best for: atopic dermatitis, Malassezia yeast, Flea Allergy Dermatitis, seborrhoea, or any recurring skin issue.
De-shedding Treatment — from ₹2,000
Targeted treatment to reduce seasonal shedding: de-shedding shampoo and conditioner to safely release the undercoat, thorough high-velocity blow-out, and de-shedding brush-out. Best for: double-coated breeds — Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Huskies.
Paw & Nail Care (Add-on) — ₹300
Nail clip, paw-pad examination, and paw-balm application. Add to any service or book standalone.

Frequently asked questions
How often should I get my dog groomed in Bangalore?
For most breeds in Bangalore's climate, every 3–4 weeks for a full groom is ideal. Dogs with active skin conditions (atopic dermatitis, Malassezia, FAD) benefit from therapeutic baths every 2 weeks. Heavy double-coated breeds (Labradors, Goldens) may need de-shedding treatments monthly during shedding seasons.
What shampoo do you use for grooming?
Veterinary-grade shampoos matched to each dog's coat and skin — never generic, fragrance-heavy salon shampoos. For healthy coats, pH-balanced canine shampoo. For skin conditions: Douxo S3 Calm (atopic), Douxo S3 PYO (bacterial/yeast), Malaseb (Malassezia), Virbac Allermyl (allergic). All available in-store for home maintenance.
My dog is anxious at groomers. Can you handle that?
Yes. We use slow, patient handling, allow the dog to settle before beginning, and never rush an anxious animal. Tell us your dog's temperament when booking and we'll schedule a quieter slot. For severely anxious dogs, we may recommend a vet consultation first.
Do you groom cats?
Yes — cat grooming is available. Cat sessions are best booked for quieter morning slots; please tell us your cat's temperament when booking.
How long does a grooming session take?
A Basic Bath & Brush takes 1–1.5 hours; a Full Groom 1.5–2.5 hours depending on breed and coat. We give a specific estimate at booking.
What if you notice a skin problem during grooming?
We document any skin changes — redness, hair loss, pustules, odour, texture changes — and inform you at collection. For significant findings we recommend a vet consultation at our Old Airport Road store; groomer and vet share records for continuity of care.
How is HempyTails different from other grooming salons in Bangalore?
Three ways: we use clinically appropriate, veterinary-grade shampoos matched to each dog's skin condition; our groomers are trained in therapeutic protocols with proper shampoo contact time; and we keep a skin & coat record for every dog we groom. Grooming as healthcare, not just cosmetics.
